• Play a self-contained side story. Create a new character and spend 6-12 hours fighting for the future of Varnhold while your main campaign’s hero establishes their barony in the Shrike Hills.
• Experience the adventure from a companion’s point of view. Maegar Varn might be your liege — but what worth is a ruler without advisors, and what can a lord achieve without his host? Anyone tried installing this and loading a save game from a previous version? I’m still on 1.1.6.
I can confirm that you can and install this version and it will work with previous releases. I uninstalled an older version and installed this one and all my previous saves are fine. This version is patched to 1.2.5c

It’s both. full standalone game with all previous DLCs patched up to 1.2.5c that is fully compatible with previous saves.
